    Position / Title: IEP Facilitator

    Function / Position Summary
    The IEP Facilitator will serve as the LEA to support students with IEPs and the teachers that assist them in specialized programs. This skilled teacher will attend IEP meetings as the LEA. Checking for IEP compliance and supporting IEP writing through coaching, training, and professional development. 
     
    Job Duties / Responsibilities
     
    • Participate in and serve as LEA for student IEP meetings (annual reviews, re-evaluation domains, re-evaluations).
    • Analyze data to support the development of age-appropriate IEP goals, progress monitoring, and Behavior Intervention Plans. Coach teachers on IEP development and increase data tracking effectiveness.
    • Monitor and check for IEP compliance ensuring a quality IEP throughout. Ensure IEPs are reviewed 4-5 school days prior to the IEP meeting.
    • Review and submit FACTS sheets, Indicator 13 forms within 48 hours of the IEP meeting.
    • Provide individual and group  training on IEP writing.
    • Clearly and concisely explain outside agency services to families: Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), PUNS, ABLE Net, and Social Security when applicable.
    • Support the maintenance of Service Team meetings and schedules, ensuring we are meeting IEP timelines.
    • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
    Education
    • Teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement
    • Bilingual preferred
     
    Experience / Knowledge
     
    • Minimum 5 years experience/background in special education philosophy and methodology.
    • Positive interaction with colleagues, administrators, and parents.
    • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
    • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to IEP compliance and writing.
    • Previous experience creating and delivering professional development and peer coaching
    • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of students with diverse needs and interests. Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities.
    • Knowledge of school policies and procedures in working with students with disabilities; maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to organize, to prioritize, to work independently and to be self-directed.
    • Ability to travel between district buildings.
    • Computer proficiency to include use of Google applications, Microsoft applications and district online systems.
    • Work day is 7.25 hours
     
    Terms of Employment
     
    This is a 9-month teacher position.  Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
