Function / Position Summary

Job Duties / Responsibilities
 
• Manage and supervise the school food service program in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.

• Promote student and staff satisfaction by merchandising/marketing meals in an attractive manner.
• Facilitate marketing & promotional events such as Youth Advisory Council, National School Breakfast and/or Lunch week to increase meal participation.
• Maintain current knowledge of all Federal, State, and Local requirements as it pertains to the Dietary Guidelines for School Nutrition Programs.
• Coordinate efforts with Food Safety Coordinator on all HACCP policies and procedures, ensuring that your school is in 100% compliance with policies/procedures.
• Support Food & Nutrition Services Administrators on all SEIU matters, including performance evaluations, grievances, training, interviewing, and adhering to policies set forth in the department’s employee handbook and SEIU contract.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with building administrators.
• Establish and maintain expectations for direct reports and provide documented leadership and coaching adhering to Union and District guidelines.
 
• Execute daily pre-meal meetings with all staff regarding the daily menu, building and department information, and safety.
• Collaborate with the Registered Dietician on menu offerings and samples.
• Maintain confidentiality on all sensitive matters.

Education
 
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid Certified Professional Food Manager Certification, previously known as a sanitation certificate. Certificate shall be obtained by the start of the second school term of employment.
• Current Illinois Driver’s License
• Earn and/or maintain School Nutrition Association certification level 1 or higher within the first year of employment.
 
Experience / Knowledge
 
• Minimum of one-year experience in supervisor level position within the Food Service Industry. 
• Proficient in Google and other software in common usage. 
• Capability to maintain complex records and express ideas and directives effectively, verbally and written.
• Strong ability to provide a high level of customer service to students, staff, parents, and team members.

Function / Position Summary
As a part of the Culture and Climate team, the Student Success Advocate builds positive and proactive relationships with students and families, providing mentoring support to individual or groups of students as well as promotes and facilitates a sustainable, safe, secure, and nurturing school learning environment that enables the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. Connects students and families with resources they need to be successful in school and addressing barriers to school attendance.  Utilize the school as a welcoming center, inspiring student, family, and community engagement.  Direct student population in designated areas as assigned with the primary focus being student, staff, and building order and security.  Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in the school and in the community.
 
Job Duties / Responsibilities
• Maintains contact with assigned students on a regular basis to ensure student engagement in school.
• Track students’ grades, attendance, and behavior on a weekly basis.
• Use data to identify student needs and intervene as necessary to ensure student success.
• Meet monthly to collaborate with school counselors to ensure student success.
• Participate in events in order to meet and establish rapport with students and parents.
• Interact with students, staff, and families in a professional manner, communicating precisely, and with clarity in all situations.
• Implement district and school regulations and policy, including dress code enforcement, ID compliance, student and visitor building escorting, and pass privileges.
• Responsible for monitoring student behavior in the halls, cafeteria, classrooms, campus, and extracurricular programs and events as assigned.
• Take precaution to protect students, staff, and school building using district guidelines regarding emergency response management, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention.
• Assist administration with student behavior investigations and staff consultations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPI Basic training (preferred)
• Mentor training (preferred)
• CPR / AED certification (preferred)
• Bilingual Spanish/English (written & verbal) preferred
Experience / Knowledge
• Excellent communication and public relations skills (required)
• Must relate well with students.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks.
• Ability to track, monitor, and report performance.
• Previous experience in security/conflict resolution in an educational setting (preferred).
Physical Demands
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work indoors and outside, as assignment requires.
Terms of Employment
• Non-union 188-day count calendar position. 
• Flexibility in working hours (including evenings and occasional weekends) is a requirement.
Salary Information

Provide leadership, coordination, and support for the AVID program to raise the achievement level of participating students and to increase the students’ personal benefit from the learning experience.
 
 
Job Duties / Responsibilities
 
• Under the supervision of the classroom AVID teacher, utilizes the AVID strategies while working closely with small groups of students to support academic success.
• Facilitate tutorials and assist students in all subject areas based on the class and text notes they have collected in their AVID binders.
• Facilitate small collaborative learning groups.
• Evaluate student binders, including planners, notes, and other student activities.
• Work with students in the writing process, such as brainstorming, draft, revision, and editing.
• Serve as a positive role model for students who are working to improve academically and want to attend college.
• Potential to help facilitate AVID events (college visits, cultural events, opening of school activities and events, and parent nights).
